Joyful Visibility: Meaningful Networking
Stop procrastinating, and grow your impact with greater joy, ease and meaning
A small group masterclass for purpose-led leaders, solopreneurs and changemakers
Thursday 9th March @ 9-11am GMT, over Zoom.
Eight places available
Networking is essential to building a purpose-led career or small business, but can easily get pushed down our to-do list.
We can delay networking until it becomes urgent: When we don’t have enough clients, when the project we’re working on requires sponsorship, when the restructure hits, or we’ve had enough of our current career path and are ready for a change. But when there’s a time-pressure, networking can become transactional. We can miss opportunities to deepen relationships, and open up possibilities for our careers, because we’re focused on a particular outcome.
Many of my one-to-one clients bring this topic to our coaching sessions. They want to be more proactive and have the conversations with people who could positively impact their work and careers, but feel stuck.
When networking feels like a chore it is because we haven’t found our own, authentic approach to it.
We may have taken on well-meaning advice from bosses, mentors and gurus about ‘putting ourselves out there’ in ways that just aren’t ‘us’. So we find excuses not to bother, or the conversations and interactions we end up having, don’t have the impact we’re hoping for.
When we find our own authentic way to build and nurture relationships, networking can feel joyful. For us, and the people we meet along the way. When it feels like this, it naturally becomes something we prioritise.
I have witnessed my clients’ careers transform as they have cultivated their own authentic approach to networking. It has also underpinned my own career journey as I’ve moved towards increasingly meaningful work.
What we’ll cover during the masterclass:
I’ll support you explore your current relationship with networking, including your inner ‘blocks’ and move into inspired action
We’ll examine some of the reasons networking can feel hard/icky/inauthentic and I’ll offer three powerful frames to help infuse your approach with greater ease, joy and meaning and move past your resistance
You’ll learn simple, actionable networking strategies, applicable both off-line and online (e.g. on LinkedIn) to help you become more visible to your network, without compromising on your values
The session is highly participative and is an invitation to get curious about your existing approach/way of seeing this topic. It will include coaching exercises, personal reflection, and group discussion and all participants will be asked to have their cameras on to enable us to create a safe and enjoyable space for learning together. The session will not be recorded.

p.p.s What other participants have said following similar group sessions:
"My mindset on development plans has completely changed after attending the workshop yesterday. I have not only come away with a completely refreshing view on how to ensure my development plan benefits me and the organisations I work for, but I am also inspired to make sure I help those I work with and lead to do the same." Kerry Horvath, Environmental and Energy Manager, Hammerson
“The session was engaging, thought provoking and gave me a push to look at my development plan with fresh eyes. After the session I took the time to focus on myself and updated my development plan. This gave me the confidence to go for a promotion at work, and I got it! Anyone wanting to think about their development plan and growth as a leader in a different way, won't be disappointed!" Holly Messenger, Assistant Director of Growth and Development, Mount green Housing Association
“Just a quick thank you note to say how inspired I was by the session. I can honestly say in 20 years as a HR professional it is the first time my development plan will actually be entirely focussed on such personal development and I am hoping it will lead to a very different type of conversation with my boss. I am going to start the conversation with the opening line “this is unapologetically different.” Senior HR Business Partner, Global Consultancy Firm
